Andrea Novak, Slovenia
I have been involved in the world of sighthounds since 1988, when I got my first Borzoi female named Marizela. She was our foundation bitch and in 1991 our first litter was born under the prefix Ninochka’s Borsois.I have been a judge for Borzois since 2001, later I also became the judge for the entire FCI group X. I was the first Slovenian judge for lure coursing and I also prepared all the regulations needed in order to begin with this beautiful sport in Slovenia. I have been an active member of the Sighthound club of Slovenia since its beginning in 1993, today I am responsible for both breeding and coursing commissions.
For a few years I was also a president of the Club, as well as a member of the Board of Slovenian Kennel Club, and the project leader for the Euro Dog Show 2010, which was held in Slovenia.
Within the Sighthound Club of Slovenia, I am active in the organization of Special Sighthound shows, coursing races and other club events.
As a judge, I am entirely devoted to Sighthounds. I have judged speciality shows & coursing races all over continental Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and Australia. As a breeder and owner of Borzois, I participate in both conformation and coursing, thus focusing also on beauty & performance competitions.
Together with my family I live in a small village, Podkogelj, only 30 km away from Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. We all enjoy the countryside: my husband and our two sons, and of course, at least 3 borzois, not to mention the other animals that keep us company: from cats to chickens :D
My hobbies are handicrafts of all kinds, the garden and enjoying nature with my loved ones.
I look forward to our meeting in May!
Yours Andreja NOVAK
